MySRT New Look / Lil Wayne U

Hey guys! If it’s your first time here, welcome to the SRT blog! This is a mix of your stories, thoughts from the road, Tour Team bios and tons of other fun stuff. We’ll be posting the MySRT updates here as well, so enjoy the new site and make sure you take a look around and some of our other entries! Let’s get started!

We’d like to introduce you to Keilah Johnson! She’s out there spreading the word about and taking a stand for abstinence and she shares the message with humor and honesty. Check out her video, “Abstinence is not a curse!”

Grab on to this quote for a minute:

So. True. Look, there’s a lot people saying a lot of stuff about sex, but it’s up to YOU to decide what influences are going to be allowed in to your life. Like Keilah said, maybe it’s music, maybe it’s porn or maybe it’s something else that influences your thoughts and actions sexually. If there are thoughts/actions in your life that you don’t belong there, look at the influences around you and replace the negative ones with positive ones.

You may remember a skit we used to do where we talked about controlling our thought life. One of our guys would say, “Don’t imagine me dressed as a ballerina. DON’T imagine me dressed like a ballerina. I SAID, DON’T IMAGINE ME DRESSED AS A BALLERINA!” At this point, everyone is envisioning him in a pink tutu. The things he said and the images he created in the audience’s mind directly impacted their thoughts.

To regain control of our thoughts and actions, we need to consume and imprint positive, holy thoughts in our mind. Think of it as a rewiring of the brain. Not sure what qualifies as positive or holy? God gave us a list!

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” – Philippians 4:8

Over the next month, try replacing a negative thought with a thought from Philippians 4:8. Bible verses, quotes, songs and more can help rewire the brain from negative to positive.
